Chicago, Il. -- On Saturday, August 13, from 8:00AM - 1:00PM, Hanover Township will host the second annual Recycling Extravaganza for residents. The event will be held on the Township campus at 250 S. Route 59, Bartlett.
Clothing recycler USAgain be on site to collect gently used clothing and shoes, along with vendors collecting electronics, cell phones, car batteries, prescription drugs, books, magazines, eye glasses, hearing aids, bicycles, fire extinguishers, propane tanks and much more. Document shredding will also be available at a two box, per resident limit.
According to the EPA, 12.7 million tons of textile waste is generated each year. Only 15% of this is collected for reuse and recycling, the remainder going into landfills. USAgain provides residents with an eco-friendly way to discard unwanted clothing, shoes and other textiles at this annual event.
